| Obituary | Peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 in her 97th year. Daughter of the late Mary and the late Solomon Berkowitz. Beloved wife of 72 years of the late Raymond. Dear mother and mother-in-law of Warren and Lucy, and Barry. Loving grandmother of Amanda and Cory, Jeremy, and Tyler. Proud great-grandmother of Imogen. Dear sister of the late Joseph Berkowitz.
Rita had a big heart and spent her life helping others. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Special thanks to the staff at the Waldorf residence for their compassionate care. A private graveside service will take place on Monday, September 22, 2025. Due to the advent of Rosh Hashana shiva ends Monday afternoon and will be private. Contributions in Rita’s memory may be made to Temple Emanu-El-Beth-Shalom Congregation, 514-937-3757. |
