Obituary It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our cherished cousin Mark "Shapiloo" Shapiro on May 8, 2020 from the Corona Virus. Mark was the beloved son of the late Jack Shapiro. The son of Barbara Steinberg. He was the dear nephew of the late Aunt Debbie and late Uncle Rudolph Brasgold and the late Uncle Eli and late Aunt Shirley Shapiro who played a large part in his life. In addition the late Uncle David and late Aunt Eva Shapiro, the late Aunt Dora and late Uncle Max Silver and the late Aunt Tillie and the late Uncle Abe Bomal Special mention to his devoted cousins,Barry and Helen Brasgold, Ricky and Joni Shapiro, Florence and Bernard Schwartz, Irene and Frank Freedman the late Morris and the late Goldie Brasgold, Leslie and Nelly Brasgold, Ashley,Tiffany and Lindsey Brasgold, who Mark always referred to as "The Dollies", Lorne and Jane Freedman, Frances Silverman the late Nordeau Silverman. He will also be sadly mourned by cousins Mitchel and Marlene Freedman, Jeffrey and Samara Freedman, Shari Schwartz, Kevin and Ronit, Eden and Jonathan Schwartz,, Earl Brasgold and Ruth, Cindy Brasgold and Nylah, Jodi and Jon Zachary,Hailey, and Holden Finkelstein, Melissa and Ted Groundwater. Arlene Bomal, Sandy and Issie Dassas, Henry and Pearl Silver, Florence and Bill Weiss,Steven, Maggie, Zoey and Ethan Shapiro, Lori, Noah and Julian Kravitz, Glenda and David Lackman, Jesse and Nicole Lackman, Chloe and Eric Mecklinger. Also remembered forever By Cousins Jeremy & Stephanie & Ashley Freedman, Cory Freedman, Daniel and Rebecca Freedman. Jack Freedman and Victoria. Noah Freedman and Abbey Freedman. Mark was a regular caller to CJAD radio shows. He greatly enjoyed speaking and meeting many of the announcers and staff. He had a great sense of humor And he had a warm greeting to all. He will be forever remembered by all those whose lives he touched. Everybody loved Mark! A special thank you to Sherry Perlman for all her devotion to Mark. He loved her. Also much gratitude to Gail and her staff for her many years of support to Mark at the Jem Workshop. He enjoyed his friendship with many who worked with him there, especially Pamela and Lucy. Our Sincere appreciation to the Compassionate staff of the 5th floor North at Maimonides and the staff at the Jewish General Hospital for their unrelenting support. A private graveside service will be held.
