Obituary It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Barry Nat Levitt. Son of the late Joe and the late Claire Levitt. His cancer came quickly and without warning. Beloved husband of Ida for fifty-three years. Loving father and father-in-law of Randy and Alisa, Mitchell and Michelle. Adored Zaida of Kara, Emma and Shai. Loving brother of Sheldon. Brother-in-law of Yetta and Hy (Shousterman), Frank and Andrea Weinstein, and the late Ken Weinstein. Devoted uncle of Jeffrey, Roberta, Stephanie, and Noah and Ashley. He will be greatly missed by many cousins, clients, colleagues and an abundance of friends. We lost someone so special to all of us. Barry loved sports, traveling, golfing, biking and going to Florida each winter. He was often seen taking evening walks with Ida through the streets of Dollard. He thoroughly enjoyed a good meal and was never one to say no to Ida’s cooking. As an accountant of 50 years, Barry cherished the relationships that he had with his clients and always thrived during tax season. But most of all he loved having his family over for holidays and Shabbat dinners. His two sons, Randy and Mitchell were his pride and joy. He loved taking his boys on road trips and to sporting events. He took immense pride from his sons’ accomplishments. When they found out that their dad was sick they went above and beyond in trying to find a suitable treatment. No one could have tried harder than they both did. Barry derived his greatest pleasure by surrounding himself with his grandchildren, who were the center of his life. They were all captains of Team Zaida Barry. When he was with them his eyes lit up. Unfortunately, when they transition into adulthood, your guidance, wisdom and experience will sorely be missed. We will make sure that you remain in their hearts forever. A private graveside service will take place. Donations in Barry’s memory can be made to Lung Cancer Canada. www.lungcancercanada.ca or by calling 1-888-445-4403.
