Obituary | It is with deep sadness that the family of Clarice Sinuk announces her passing on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, just 3 months shy of her 100th birthday. Beloved daughter of the late Boris and the late Pola Sinuk. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Morris and Roz Sinuk. Cherished aunt of Aviva and Mark, Vita, Lana and Allan. Loving great-aunt of Jonathan, Leora and Annie.
Clarice was best known for her humility, selflessness and the love she had for her family. She was an icon on St. Laurent Boulevard working at her father’s store, which served the local community’s needs for basic household dry goods for over 50 years. During that time, Clarice worked 6 days a week without ever taking a day off, delighting her customers by selling essentials for the lowest price in the city. Clarice spent her retirement as an honoured volunteer at Maimonides Hospital and Home for the Aged. We gratefully acknowledge the special care she received from her caregivers Josephine Chua and Josephine Ancheta as well as the compassion of the staff on the 7th floor at Baycrest - Jewish Home for the Aged. A private service will take place. Donations in her memory may be made to Donald Berman Maimonides Foundation, (514) 483-2121, ext. 2207. |
