Obituary | It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 our beloved mom passed away, at the youthful age of ninety-six. Freda was the devoted wife of the late Lou Lubiner and loving mother and mother-in-law of Ira and Florence Lubiner, Linda Lubiner and Randy Taylor, and Shelley and Robert Paris. She was the very cherished Grandma of Jamie (AKA Jaymels) Lubiner (Kathy Gyori), Andrea Gellis (David Gellis), Caryn Lubiner (Hugh Wellman), Stephanie Wechsler (Howard Haimovitz), and Cayla Paris (Jason Ciubotaru). She proudly wore the title of Great-Grandma of Hayden, Marley, Zoe, Cece, Gabriel and Noah. Freda was the beloved daughter of the late Jenny and the late Charles Solomons. She was predeceased by her siblings Sylvia, Maurie and Benny, and sisters and brothers-in-law, Frank Lubiner, Harold Singer, Lottie Singer, and Sammy Lubiner. Surviving sisters-in-law are Colette Solomons and Mildred Lubiner.
Our mom will best be remembered for her deep love of her family, her immense pride in her children and grandchildren, her love of conversation, her classic British accent that became stronger with each passing year, and her enduring strength and resolve which will forever serve as a standard to all who knew and loved her. Special thanks to her caregivers, especially Francia and Ophelia, whose dedication to our mom brought her great comfort. A private graveside service will take place. Contributions in Freda’s memory may be made to Federation CJA, 514-345-2600, or the charity of your choice. |
