It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Barney, after a valiant struggle, on Sunday, January 14, 2024. Loving husband of Doreen for sixty-three years. Devoted father and father-in-law of Ivan and Jacqueline. Cherished Zaidie of Ryan Cons and fiancée Liane Steiner, Chelsey Cons and Harley Kizner. Son of the late Louis and the late Sarah Cons. Dear brother and brother-in-law of the late Moses and the late Barbara Cons; brother-in-law of Anthony and the late Myrna Taylor, Jean and the late Dr. Yale Kanter, the late Dr. Bernard and the late Sheila Kanter. Heartfelt thanks for the love and adoration given to Barney by his caregivers Angela, and Gina, as well as the doctors, and nurses in the E.R. and 6th floor at the Jewish General Hospital. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Wednesday, January 17 at 12:00 noon. Burial at the Beit Abraham Family Estates Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva at his home.
