Dear brother-in-law of Victor and Claudine Soussana, Charlie and Aline Soussana, Roger and Denise Soussana, Francine and the late Michel Soussana, France and the late Sauveur Soussana and the late Sylvain Soussana. Maurice was a man full of joy, kind and loving with a sweet soul. A man who moved mountains with subtlety. He will be greatly missed by his family, many friends and his dear colleagues in council. In 1964, he and his pregnant wife, two sons and the youngest brother of his spouse, whom he took in as his own, left his native country for Canada to make a better life for his family. Elected City Councilor in 1982 for 9 mandates, a total of thirty-five years, he proudly represented and served the citizens and his community. He sat on the Conseil d’administration de la Fédération Canadienne des Municipalités for seventeen years. A special thank you to his beloved nephew, Dr. Alain Bitton, who continuously supported him until his final moments. Thank you to Dr. Ron Olivenstein and all the nurses who cared for him with such gentleness at the Emergency Department and Trauma Centre of the Sacré Cœur Hospital. A private family graveside service will be held on Sunday March 7. Shiva strictly private.
