Peacefully, on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Beloved husband of Ruth for 56 years. Loving and devoted father of Philip Essing, and Elissa Essing. Dear brother of Karon Finley, David (Nili) of Israel, the late Barbara Essing. Leon will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, family, former students and colleagues, and all of those whose lives he touched. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Donald Berman Maimonides Geriatric Center and Jewish General Hospital K10 Unit for their exceptional care and compassion.
