Passed from this life on April 4, 2011 after a brief illness. She was in her 88th year. She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Joseph "George" Collin of the Quinte Living Centre, Belleville, and by her 5 children, Dorothy Turner (John) of Belleville, Yvonne Richard (Gilles) of Pierrefonds, Douglas Collin (Brigette) of Montreal, Marcel Collin of Montreal and John Collin of Victoria, B.C. She will be greatly missed by her 11 grandchildren: Jennifer Baron (Elan) of Toronto, Michelle Turner of Toronto, and Joseph Turner of Montreal, as well as Patrick (Tanya Gelinas), Melanie (Andrew Bender) and Kimberly Richard (Jason Lopes) of Pierrefonds, and Joshua and Allison of Victoria, as well as by her 4 great-grandchildren. Sylvia was laid to rest on April 6th at the Kehal Israel Memorial Park in Dollard des Ormeaux, Quebec. The family wishes to send their sincere thanks to the staff of Crown Ridge Place, in Trenton, for their wonderful care over the past few months. Our thanks as well to the emergency room staff at Trenton Memorial Hospital and Belleville General Hospital (especially Monica) for their care, empathy and compassion to Sylvia and to the family during her brief illness. Such kindnesses will always be remembered. We would also like to express our deep appreciation for the flawless services provided to Sylvia and her family by Steele Funeral Home in Belleville, and by Paperman and Sons in Montreal. |
