EDWARD TIMOTHY SKIBINSKI After a brief illness, It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Edward Skibinski on July 4, 2011. Ed was a husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Ed enjoyed playing golf, watching the golf channel, listening to country music and watching movies. He also loved playing with his granddaughters Kylie and Lexi and looking after his granddog Ruffles. Ed enjoyed landscaping and gardening as well as maintaining the lawn and trees in the city and lake property. He always looked forward to his weekly lunch on Thursdays with his golf buddies. Ed worked for Mirtone Industries Alarm Company as a Western Regional Manager which later changed to Edwards Canada - Fire and Security Alarms. Ed was well known in the electrical field during his working years. Ed was a talented man. There wasn't anything he couldn't accomplish when he set his mind to it. He always maintained there was only one way to do a job and that was the right way. He had a tough exterior but a heart of gold. He will be sadly missed by wife Lillian, son Kerry (Andrea), daughter Tannis, twin grandchildren Kylie and Lexi as well as the family dog Ruffles. Ed also leaves to mourn, his brothers Joe (Joyce), Frank (Anne), sister-in-law (Ruth), numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by parents (John and Martha Skibinski) and brother Walter. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at the St. Boniface Hospital (A7-West). Special thanks to Dr. Armstrong and the surgical team for your care and compassion. Thanks to niece and Nurse Joanne Bouchard for her advice and support. In compliance with Ed's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Ed's body has been donated to science and cremation will take place at a later date. A celebration of Ed's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11 at Rossmere Golf and Country Club, 925 Watt Street, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Kidney Foundation or Winnipeg Humane Society with Ed Skibinski as the tribute name. Rest in Peace Dear Ed, until we meet again. |
