Obituary | Victor David of Montreal, Canada passed away on April 10, 2024 after a full and productive life. Born in Przemysl, Poland in 1922, and working in Lviv in the early days of WWII as a forced laborer for the SS, he managed to escape becoming another victim of the Holocaust using his ability to manage risk and his special skills. Mastering nine languages, he avoided capture for over 3 years eventually smuggling himself into Fano, Italy where he met and married Ruth. After the war, Victor and Ruth settled in Montreal where Victor operated a travel agency. Victor and Ruth became major donors for Yad Vashem and the Montreal Holocaust Museum.
Victor will be buried next to Ruth in Montreal at the Kehal Israel Memorial Park in Dollard des Ormeaux. He will be fondly remembered by niece and nephew Ariela and Israel, cousins Doris and Walter, family friend, Jackie, and devoted caregiver Hanna who said she would be there to hold his hand until the end, and she was. |
