Peacefully on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at the age of 90. Devoted son of the late Charles, the late Renée and the late Esther Vejgman. Loving husband of the late Esther Myriam Fdeda. Doting father and father-in-law of Marc and Rena (Sher), and Charles and Chantal (Tremblay). Proud grandfather of David and Jeremy. Uncle of Davina, Deborah, Yoann and Élise. Cousin of Daniel and Michel. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. Jean was born in France and lived through WWII and the occupation of France. After the war, Jean and his father moved to Morocco where he met his future wife, Esther. Jean moved to Canada in 1957 to start a new life with Esther. Jean worked for the federal government for over 30 years before retirement, but his passion was writing poetry. Jean was an accomplished poet and photographer and was known as the unofficial poet of TMR. His poems were frequently featured in the TMR newspaper. Jean was an active member of TRAM, and a lifelong Spanish student. He modeled the qualities of sensitivity, empathy and simplicity. Due to Covid-19, there will be a private graveside service and the shiva will be strictly private.
