AFRIN, Sam. Peacefully after stoically enduring a lengthy illness in his eighty-third year on Friday, November 14, 2003. He leaves behind his beloved wife Ida Siegal, his daughter Barbara (Noah Streicher) and his sister Ruth Cooper. Cherished "Papa Sam" of Craig (Patricia), Jason and Gillian. Proud great-grandfather and namesake of Sammy. Dear step-grandfather of Sasha and Zachary. Predeceased by his children Donna and Mark. Sadly mourned by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Moe and Yetta Deckelbaum, Jerry and Mary Markus, Madeline Siegal, his many nieces, nephews and their children. Appreciation for excellent care from the Mount Sinai Hospital nurses Marilyn and Mercy and the entire staff. Funeral service from Paperman and Sons, 3888 Jean Talon West on Monday, November 17 at 1:15 p.m. Burial at the Congregation Shaare Zedek Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield.
