LONG, Gerald (Jerry). Passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, in his eighty-seventh year. Beloved husband of Freida (Freyda) Harris for sixty-four years. Loving father and father-in-law of Stephen (Sandra), and Barry (Ruthi). Adoring grandfather of Rachel, Rebecca, Charlie, and Zoe. Brother and brother-in-law of the late Dorothy and the late Sam Pockrass, and brother-in-law of Claire Smith, and Bill and Anne Harris of Calgary. Special uncle of Stanley and Carole Satov, and many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and relatives. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, October 8 at 11 a.m. Burial at the Dorshei Emet Reconstructionist Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Due to the festival of Succot, shiva commences Sunday evening, October 11, at his residence. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
