Obituary KATZ, Philip E. Peacefully in his eighty-third year, in Montreal on December 3, 2006. Beloved husband of the late Tagora Katz. Devoted father and father-in-law of Ariela Katz and Michael Ostrove, and of Nuri Katz and Larissa Pitersky. Devoted and adored grandfather of Samuel and Shulamit Katz Ostrove. Cherished brother of Isabella and of the late Yolan, Chicha, Regina, and Potyo. Dear friend of Dolly Cohen. Treasured uncle, friend, student. A man of great learning, wisdom and insight. As a Jewish community civil servant, working with the ZOA, B'nai B'rith, the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, and Ben Gurion University of the Negev, he devoted his life to the reestablishment of the Jewish people and to the development of a just and peaceful Israel. He was committed to the remembrance of the Holocaust and, through its lessons, to the prevention of further genocides. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon W on Tuesday, December 5 at 1:15 pm. Burial at the Dorshei Emet Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva Tuesday and Wednesday 4800 Cote St. Luc Road, apt. 1010. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Canadian Associates of Ben Gurion University, 514-937-8927 or Friends of Peace Now.
