Obituary It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Grace on Saturday, July 10, 2021, in her 95th year. Devoted wife of the late Melvin Stober. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Bonnie and Mark Merson, Iris and Will Rogers, and Drs. Sheila Stober and Robert Letovsky. Loving grandmother and great-grandmother of David Merson, Cara Merson and Celso Louro, Erin Letovsky and Tom Roe, Daniel Letovsky, Rami Rogers, Rhea Merson, Malou Merovitz, Sacha Louro, Luca Louro, and Talia Roe. Dearest sister and sister-in-law of Gloria (Queenie) Miller and the late Dr. Louis Miller, the late Sylvia and the late Nat Moses, and the late Arnold Stober. Grace will also be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, and many long-standing friends, particularly Claire Eidinger and her former teaching colleagues with whom she maintained a close friendship over the years. Grace was an exceptionally loving, generous, and accepting person. She treasured her family and friends above all. She enjoyed an accomplished career as a Special Educator in an era when women did not have many opportunities to excel professionally and had a profound effect on the lives of many children with special needs. Grace was a beautiful soul who touched others with her warmth and her kind heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A very special thank you to her kind and loving caregivers. Contributions in Grace’s memory may be made to the Grace and Melvin Stober Fund, c/o The Auxiliary Mount Sinai Hospital, 514-369-2222, ext. 1337. A private funeral service will be held. Shiva strictly private.
