TANNY, Phyllis (nee Newman) On Sunday, May 8, 2011. Beloved wife of Phil for sixty-nine years. Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Larry and Rosalie, Rabbi Chaim and Pesha, and the late Robert. Cherished grandmother of Jarrod Tanny and Allison Rosen, Cordell Tanny and Angela Altavilla; Miriam and Moshe Stock, Binyamin and Rachel Tanny, Simcha Tanny, Yosef Tanny, Rivka and Shmuel Rosenberg, Avraham and Noah Tanny, Shira and Avi Gorin, Devora, Yehuda, Shlomo and Reuven Tanny. Loving great-grandmother of Sarah and Max Tanny; Yehuda, Ruth, Menachem and Yehudis Stock; David and Daniel Rosenberg; Merri and Bella Tanny. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Norman Newman, the late Walter and the late Sara Newman, the late Samuel Mark and the late Esther Newman, and sister-in-law of Jean and the late Morrie Tanny, Albert and the late Lily Plant, the late Sarah and the late Ben Goldberg, the late Harry and the late Celia Tanny, the late Charlie and the late May Tanny. Phyllis will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special thanks to the 15th and 12th floor staff of the Montreal General Hospital for their care and compassion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, May 10 at 12 noon. Burial at the Beth-El Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva at 740 Kenaston Ave., T.M.R., from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9:30 p.m. daily.
