GARTNER, William (Willie, Bill)
Peacefully, on Thursday, June 16, 2016, in his ninety-eighth year. Beloved husband of Lisa Smith for seventy-five years. Loving and devoted father and father-in-law of Jack and Sandy, Syd and Barbara, Alan and Beverly. Cherished grandpa and 'Papa' of Lara and Nathan, Steven and Noriko, Amy and Michael, Stacey and Jason, Daniel, and Jeremy. Proud great-grandfather of Tyler and Benjamin Rotholz; James and Amber Katz. Devoted brother and brother-in-law of the late Ethel and the late Jack Wiener, Lillian and the late Morris Gartner, and brother-in-law of Saul and the late Goldie Smith, Aaron and the late Mary Schwartz. Uncle Willie will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, family, friends, and all who knew him. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of 4th floor Hope Pavilion at the Jewish Eldercare Centre, especially his guardian angel, Christina, and his devoted caregivers, Lisa, Hassina, Nikki and Sharon for their loving care and devotion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, June 19 at 3:00 p.m. Burial at the Shaare Zion Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva at The Waldorf: 7400 ch. de la Côte-Saint-Luc, C.S.L., from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. through Wednesday evening.
