It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Sydney Smith on Friday, September 1, 2017, at the age of ninety-one. Sydney was a kind, gentle, and loving soul throughout his long life and he held unwavering pride in his children, his grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Isabel Juliver. Sydney was a loving and devoted father and father-in-law of Sandy and Danny Rossner, Marvin Smith, Howard and Bella Smith, Perry and Linda Smith. He was a cherished Zaidy of Jonathan and Rena, Julie and Matthew, Jennifer and Corey, Brandon, Samantha and Nathaniel. Proud great-grandfather of Nachliel, Avtalyon, Lehava, Shaanan and Nehorai. Son of the late Moe Smith and the late Ida Smith. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Arnold and Frances Smith, David and Thelma Smith, the late Sam and the late Claire Smith, the late Harry and the late Beatrice Smith. Dear brother-in-law of Molly and the late Sidney Becker, Claire and the late Bernie Peck, the late Myer Juliver, the late George Juliver. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, as well as by Esther and Idel Baum, Lucille and the late Norton Wolf, Peter Rossner, Ronja and Shaul Soroka, and families. Sydney had a warm and loving relationship with the late Alex Rossner and the late Anna Rossner. Special thanks to Adele Yellin. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Monday, September 4 at 10:00 a.m. Burial at the Shaare Zedek Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield.
