TEDDY E. BERISH Our valiant warrior in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the age of ninety-four years young. Beloved, devoted husband, best friend and soul mate of Esther Hittner Berish for over seventy-one years. Loving son and son-in-law of the late Sarah and the late Louis Berish, the late Goldie and the late Isaac Hittner. Cherished father and father-in-law of Rhoda and the late Brian Cherry, Faygie and Earl Dubrovsky, Bonnie and Paul Ostrov, David Berish and Marla Ciubotaru. Thoughtful grandfather to Debbie and Stewart Kahan, Lorne and Vered Cherry, Sheri and David Ditkofsky, Darren and Elinor Dubrovsky, Gary Dubrovsky, Sabrina Ostrov, Brandon and Derek Berish. Proud Great-grandfather to Joshua, Shawn and Jaclyn Kahan, Amanda and Dana Cherry, Matthew Ben-David and Kayla Ditkofsky, Joseph, Gabriella and Jayden Dubrovsky and Sierra Dubrovsky. Adoring brother and brother-in-law of Saul and Belle Hittner, the late Molly Berish, the late Sadie and the late Ben Shaposnick, the late Isadore and Zella Berish, the late Honnie and the late Berl Dalfen. A man of integrity, wisdom and strength of character, he will be warmly remembered by his special nieces, nephews, cousins, great and great-great nieces and nephews, friends and all those whose lives he touched with his generous gestures of kindness. The family is grateful to Dr. Rubin Becker, Dr. David Amdursky, Dr. George Honas, Dr. Tina Kader and Dr. Joseph Portnoy for their personalized, innovative and humane care as well as to the nurses and professional staff of the CLSC. The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to his compassionate and gentle care givers, above all, Elsa Deblois. Funeral service from Paperman and Sons, 3888 Jean Talon West on Monday, February 1, at 1 p.m. Burial at the Shaare Zedek Congregation section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva private.
