Peacefully and with courage, on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the age of eighty-two. Devoted husband of Vicki Denterlein for fifty-five years. Proud and loving father and father-in-law of Scott and Nicole, David and Aimée. Doting Grandpa of Thomas, and Alexandra; and Olivia. Son of the late David and the late Alice Abelson; and son-in-law of the late Thomas and the late Florence Denterlein. Dearest brother and brother-in-law of the late Beverly Abelson Caplan and Sam Caplan; and brother-in-law of Carol and the late Charles Goacher, Donna and the late Charles Walter, the late Judy and the late Tom Thompson. Michael will be deeply missed by his niece, Daisy, and lovingly remembered by his nephew, Barry, and his other nieces, nephews, family, and many lifelong, faithful friends. The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the care and compassion of the Palliative Care team and Hope & Cope volunteers at the Jewish General Hospital. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, January 22 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva at his home, 1325 Scarboro Rd., T.M.R., Sunday following burial until 3:30 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday and Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. daily.
