Obituary | Peacefully, on Saturday, April 4, 2020. Beloved husband of Marilyn Palefsky. Devoted father of Lauren and Robert (Stephanie Carson). Cherished grandfather of Melody Ilana and Jared Leo. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Dahlia and the late Andrew Morgan, Celia and Brian Lomas; and brother-in-law of Mark Palefsky and Rima Rozen, Joel Palefsky and Glenn Peacock. Son-in-law of Gilda and the late Irving Palefsky. He will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews, Leslie Schreiber, Adrian Schreiber (Patti), Steven Palefsky (Sarah), Daniel Palefsky (Zoe) and Raphie Palefsky-Smith; great-nephews, Tristan and Ryan Schreiber; his extended family and friends.
Born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland to Leo Kaplow and Molly Rosen Kaplow, Howard moved with his family to Montreal in 1955. In 1971, he met his beloved wife, Marilyn, and together they raised two wonderful children. Howard led an exemplary life. A man of great integrity, he was beloved and respected by all who knew him. He was honest, caring and patient, and, above all, a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved life and always saw the best in people. A man of great intelligence, he had a highly successful career in financial management and was a Grand Master in Bridge. The family wishes to express their special appreciation to Drs. How, Tabah and Bouganim for their longstanding care and dedication, and to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital for their kindness and professionalism. Due to COVID-19, there will be a private graveside service.
