HOROWITZ, Ethel-Anne (nee Bacal)
Peacefully, on Monday, February 16, 2015. She is survived by her devoted husband Paul, her loving daughters Melissa and Shana and loyal son-in-law Danny Fenlon, her beloved grandchildren Bryan and Zachary, and her wonderful sisters-in-law Monette and Fran. Daughter of the late Charles and the late Florence Bacal, sister of the late Mike Bacal, and mother of the late Joel Wilner. A native of Montreal, Ethel-Anne was a well-loved member of the Jewish community. She spent many years entertaining residents at senior facilities and local nursing homes. With her music and her singing, she also performed in numerous amateur theatrical productions. As both a teacher and a guidance counselor in the Greater Montreal school systems, Ethel-Anne influenced generations of local children, helping them live happier and healthier lives. As Ethel sustained prolonged illnesses and was a dialysis patient for many years, the Horowitz family would especially like to thank the entire staff of the Dialysis Unit at the Montreal General Hospital for their expert care and kindness. We would also like to express our appreciation to June Johnson, Ethel's home caregiver, who provided her many hours of companionship and laughter in her waning months. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Wednesday, February 18 at 3:15 p.m. Burial at the Reconstructionist Dorshei Emet Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva at her home from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. daily.
