DOUEK, Eva (nee Katz). Peacefully, after a courageous battle with breast cancer, on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at the age of sixty. Beloved wife and best friend of Joseph. Cherished daughter of Miklos and Marica Katz. Daughter-in-law of Frida and the late Leon Douek. Devoted and loving mother and mother-in-law of Jennifer (Kagiso), Daniel and Benjamin. Proud grandmother of Motsumi. Dearest sister-in-law of Maurice and Helen Douek, Margaret and Chaim Ellner. Eva will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and her students and colleagues in the Beth Jacob community. The family would like to acknowledge with sincere gratitude the doctors and nurses of Oncology, Medical 6 and ICU at the Royal Victoria Hospital for their exceptional care, and the CLSC Rene Cassin for helping to care for Eva at home with her family. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W. on Monday, April 28 at 1 p.m. Burial at the Dorshei Emet, Reconstructionist Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva at her home. Eva was a caring and committed person involved in many different aspects of her community.
