SILVER, Sylvia (nee Levine)
Peacefully, after a brief illness, in her ninety-ninth year. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Dr. Samuel Silver. Cherished mother and mother-in-law to Dr. David and Lorry (Lorraine Levy), Dr. Ivan and Lynda, Dr. Robert and Joelle. Predeceased by her older and dear sister Amelia and brother-in-law, Harry Goldman. Loving sister and sister-in-law of Marilyn and the late Dr. Ben Gross, and Joyce and Dr. Samuel Milrod. Loving grandmother of Shawna Silver and Tim Daly, Benjamin Silver and Tina Silverstein, Jonathan Silver and Eric Savory, Kayla Silver and Brian Greenspan, Daniel Silver, Adam Silver, Joshua Silver, Sarabeth Silver. Adored great-grandmother of Harrison, Nathaniel and Jameson Daly, Ava June Silver, Sadie and Bodie Greenspan. She was most proud of her designation as a Gold Life Master in duplicate bridge, an activity she engaged in until two days before her passing. She leaves bridge friends, extended families, nieces, nephews, and countless friends. She will be remembered for her deep enduring relationships with people, her love of family, her graciousness, her thoughtfulness and kindness, the hundreds of knitted and crocheted sweaters, afghans and baby blankets she made for others and her baking, especially the chocolate bark. Special thanks to Dr. Irving Burstein for his dedication and loving care over many years. Funeral service took place at Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W., on Monday, September 5. Shiva in Montreal at 208 Netherwood Crescent, Hampstead, Monday through Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., continuing in Toronto at 1095 Spadina Road on Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Evening services at 7:30 p.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to the "Sylvia Silver Memorial Fund", c/o the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251. |
