PHYLLIS BRASLOFF (nee MERSON) On Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Mount Sinai Hospital, surrounded by family. Born May 21, 1921 in Montreal. Cherished and devoted wife of Reuben Brasloff, beloved mother of Mitchell Beer and Karen Irving and grandmother of Adrian and Rachel Irving-Beer, daughter of the late Lillian and the late Peter Merson. Phyllis was favourite aunt, niece, or cousin to her entire family and a second mum to nieces, nephews, and friends. Thanks to Congregation Dorshei Emet, the community that gave her so much and to which she was so very committed, and to the doctors and caregivers at the Jewish General and Mount Sinai Hospitals. Special thanks to Drs. Michael Dworkind, Norman Wolkove, and Ronald Ludman, Rabbi Ron Aigen, and to Marie, Sonja, Lee-Ann, Dr. Golda, and the rest of the incredible team at Mount Sinai. Donations in her memory to any of these institutions. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W. on Friday, October 24 at 12 noon. Burial at Congregation Dorshei Emet Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva strictly private. The family will receive visitors Sunday, October 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. In passing, she wishes us all good health and long life. After so much courage, strength, and determination, now there's no more pain. |
