EDELSTEIN, Hedy (nee Wintrobe) 1944 - 2018 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Hedy Wintrobe Edelstein on Friday, April 13, 2018. Born in Edmonton Alberta, Hedy earned her BA from Vassar College and settled in Montreal after graduation. In 1974 she married Hymie Edelstein and together they built their home in Saint-Sauveur, in the Laurentians. Hymie died in 1986. In the years that followed, Hedy pursued her musical interests, training as an organist and playing the organ for churches in Sainte-Anne-du-Lac and Saint-Sauveur/Morin Heights. At the same time, she became a skilled Torah reader for Montreal's Reconstructionist Synagogue, Dorshei Emet. Hedy's gifts of friendship and loyalty touched the lives of many, near and far. We are bereft. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, April 17 at 12:00 noon. Burial at the Dorshei Emet Reconstructionist Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. "Memory believes before knowing remembers." |
