BERNSTEIN, Alan Leslie. Peacefully in Ottawa, on Wednesday, December 29, 2004, ninety-three years young. Husband of the late Ethel Wiesman. Brother of the late Sam Bernstein, and the late Sarah Cramer. He was beloved by all who knew him as a parent and mentor, and was treasured by his children Bob Bernstein and Judy Bernstein, Janet and Steven Mendelsohn; his grandchildren Seth, Jonah, and Erica Bernstein; Joshua and Daniel Mendelsohn; his special nieces and nephews Hannah Engelstad, and Michael and David Cramer; his colleagues Lionel Mincoff and the late Harry Mayerovitch; his best friend Lorna Scherzer. He lived a remarkable life of architecture, music and family. His optimism, humour and unconditional love are an inspiration and comfort to us all. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon West on Friday, December 31 at 1 p.m. Burial at the Reconstructionist Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva in Montreal until Sunday evening, continuing in Ottawa Monday morning. Donations in his memory may be made to the "Alan and Ethel Bernstein Perpetual Scholarship Fund" at the O.R.T. School of Engineering in Jerusalem, Israel. |
