ALPER, Dave
On Monday, September 1, 2014, in his ninetieth year. Devoted husband of the late Gertrude Gray and the late Lottie Garfinkle Shatenstein. Beloved father and father-in-law of Mel and Mona Alper, Neil and Susan Alper, Dr. Deborah Alper and Jay Aaron, and stepfather and father-in-law of Dr. Bryna Shatenstein and Victor Dabby, Stan Shatenstein, and the late Elaine Shatenstein. Cherished Zaida of Daniel, Dr. Jennifer, and Ryan Alper; Lorne Alper and Jessica Gottlieb, Elyssa Alper; Rebecca, Ben and Leah Hiscott; Dia Dabby and Adam Sargon, Dr. Layla Dabby and Ben Yunis; Gabriel Marleau-Shatenstein. Proud great-grandfather of Logan Alper. Predeceased by his brothers, Eddie, Issie, Charlie, Max, Myer, and Nat Alper. Dear brother-in-law of Bessie Alper, Shirley Gray, Ruth Goodman, Shirley Gray, Ethel Solomon, Florence Garfinkle, Issie Garfinkle, Harry and Maureen Garfinkle, Edith Garfinkle, Jackie and Ethel Garfinkle. Sadly mourned by his many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special thanks to his wonderful caregivers Julius and Cherryl, and to the staff of the Jewish Hospital of Hope and Eldercare Centre, where he spent his last eight years. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Wednesday, September 3 at 12 noon. Burial at the Beth Zion Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield.
