SHELL, Sophie (née Cytrynbaum)
Born in Montreal on June 8, 1923, died peacefully at the Montreal General Hospital on Monday, August 28, 2017 with family and close friends at her bedside. Sophie was predeceased by her husband Hyman (Ty) Shell, her elder brothers Leo Cytrynbaum and his wife Florence Cytrynbaum, Benny Cytrynbaum and his wife Yvette Cytrynbaum, her father Joseph Cytrynbaum, her mother Lieba Goldfinger Cytrynbaum, her brother-in-law Louis Shell, her son-in-law David Schnitzer, her nephews Joshua Cytrynbaum and Leonard Cytrynbaum. Sophie's long and happy life leaves many who will miss her dearly. She is mourned by great-grandson baby Cole Richard Shell Stahl of Amaranth, Ontario, great-granddaughter Yvette Rose Sanford Shell of Cambridge, Massachusetts, and grandchildren Lisa Shell-Schnitzer of New York City, Adam Solomon Ostroff Shell and his wife Taina Mendonca Torres Shell of Toronto and Rio de Janeiro, Beno Shell-Schnitzer and his fiancée Ellese Jobin of New York City, Chaim Jeremiah Ostroff Shell of Toronto, Kyam Shell-Schnitzer and his wife Carly Caruso of Toronto, Jacob Adam Shell of Philadelphia, Laura Hava Josefowitz Shell Stahl and her husband Jacob Richard Stahl of Amaranth, Ontario, and Hanna Rose Shell and her husband Jason Sanford of Cambridge, Massachusetts, and by her children, Lieba Shell and her husband Irwin Belitsky of Montreal, Brian Shell and his wife Barbara Marlene Ostroff of Toronto and Salvage Newfoundland & Labrador, Marc Shell and his wife Susan Lisa Meld Shell of Cambridge, Massachusetts, and by her brother Solomon Cytrynbaum and his wife Susan Lee of Northbrook, Illinois, and by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W., on Wednesday, August 30 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at Beth El Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva following burial at Place Kensington, 4430 Ste. Catherine Street West, Montreal, H3Z 3E4, in the Solarium from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on August 30th only.
