GOLD, Louis P., CA, FCPA
Peacefully on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, in his ninety-sixth year, Louis P. Gold (Lou), predeceased by his parents Esther Lowsky and Philip Gold. Beloved husband of the late Ruth Bloomfield. Devoted father of Gerald (Dorothy Marcus) and Donna. Cherished grandfather of Robert Gold, Elyssa Cipriani (Anthony), Evan Abramovitch (Amy Shtull), Ryan Abramovitch (Michelle Caron), and Casey Abramovitch (Daniel Fhima). Devoted great-grandfather of Sofia, Aiden, Jude, Madison, Matteo and Gabriella. Dear brother of Anne David, brother-in-law of the late Doodie Bloomfield and the late Doris and Sheldon Bloomfield.
Lou came from very humble origins and attended McGill University studying accounting at night while working during the day to earn his CA. He had a successful career as a senior partner at Victor, Reisler, Gold and Company, eventually being awarded the FCPA designation. He was well-liked and respected in the community. He served on the board of the YMHA, was a founding member of the Amici Club and president of both Cedarbrook and Elmridge golf courses. He was known for his wit, sense of humour, wisdom and integrity. He enjoyed lifelong friendships. He was loved by his children and adored and admired by his grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom will miss his love, support and guidance.
