Peacefully, on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, with strength, courage and humour. Beloved husband of Elaine Etzkovitch. Cherished and loved father and father-in-law of Rhonda and Laurence Friedman, Ellen Madoff and Earl Rubin. Honoured and adored 'Papa' of Justin, Cory and Matthew Friedman; Aidan, Lexi and Emma Rubin. Wonderful brother and brother-in-law of Al and Bev Madoff, Ann Lutwak, the late Edith Moscovitch. Brother-in-law of Mindy and Jack (Jacob) Rosensweig, Lawrence (Butch) Zinman and Val Eisen and the late Rhoda Zinman. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Jean Bourbeau, Isabelle Ouellette and the entire staff of the Montreal Chest Institute for their exceptional care and compassion. The family wishes to acknowledge the Home Care team of Maisonneuve Rosemont Hospital and his caregivers, Heva, Mary and Elly, for their devotion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Friday, December 24 at 12 noon. Burial at the Bassarabier Hebrew Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at Rhonda and Laurence's home after 2 p.m. daily.
