STEIN, Sophie (Tootsie) (nee Wasserman) Peacefully, on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, in her ninety-fourth year. Beloved wife of the late Harry. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Jerry Stein, and Rena and Fred Halickman. Loving grandmother of Sheryl and Steven Hobbs, Alden and Renee Stein, Marcy Stein, Natalie Stewart; Robin and Mitchell Rosen, Mitchell and Abby Halickman. Proud great-grandmother of Tristan, Shannon, Harley, Tyler, Jordana, Kyle, Matthew and Spencer. Dearest sister and sister-in-law of Freda and the late Morris Sazant, Max Wasserman, Martin and the late Stella Wasserman, Jeannie and the late Herbert Fefferman (New York), Goldie and the late Sender Wasserman, Evelyn and the late Rubin Wasserman, the late Joe and the late Evelyn Wasserman. Sister-in-law of the late Morris and the late Ray Bornstein. Tootsie will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Golda Tradounsky, and to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Mount Sinai Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, July 8 at 1 p.m. Burial at the Canadian Hebrew Cemetery, de la Savane.
