SABIN, Ellen (nee Berlin) Peacefully, with dignity, after a lengthy illness, on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Beloved wife and best friend of Dr. Morris Sabin for fifty-eight years. Devoted and loving mother of Harold Sabin and Dr. Norman Sabin. Cherished sister of Gloria Berlin. Daughter of the late Mac and the late Rose Berlin. Dearest sister-in-law of Dorothy Grayson and Gene Bass, and aunt of Alan and Lolita Grayson, Joan and Fred Cohen, and their families. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Friday, April 15 at 12 noon. Burial at the Tifereth Beth David Jerusalem Congregation Cemetery, Beth Yitzchok Section, de la Savane. Shiva at her home, Friday from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday after 2 p.m. through Sunday evening, and Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. Due to the advent of Passover, shiva ends Monday afternoon. Amongst Ellen's lifetime achievements, she was the founder of the Quebec Association for Children with Learning Disabilities. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. The family wishes to extend its sincerest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Jewish General Hospital for their exceptional care.
