MYERS, Barbara Anne (nee Yapp). Peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, on Tuesday, June 17, 2008. Born October 22, 1932 in London, England, Barbara was one of four daughters born to the late Isidor and the late Rebecca Yapp. Beloved wife of Michael Myers. Loving mother and mother-in-law of David, Peter and Leslie, and Stephen. Dear Nanna B to her grandchildren Keith and Eric. Predeceased by her loving sisters Margaret, Cecilia and Roberta. Lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, family and friends. Barbara grew up in England and married Michael after which they moved to Montreal, Quebec in 1954. She always managed to balance the active home life of raising her sons while playing an integral part in the family business. Barbara will be fondly remembered for her love of music, a soft heart for any animal and her enjoyment of a riveting read. And while she could share a good laugh, Barbara loved the challenge and stimulation of an intellectual conversation. When she needed to get away, her long walks along the Maine coastline were always special as this was her favorite place. Special thanks to Natalie McGraw and her family who were there for Barbara throughout her illness. Thank you also to the staff of the Lakeshore General Hospital. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon W. on Sunday, June 22 at 10 a.m. Burial at the King George Association Cemetery, De La Savane. Shiva at Ruby Foo's through Sunday evening.
