STEINMETZ, Myer A Holocaust survivor. Peacefully, at home, on Friday, January 5, 2018. Devoted and loving husband of the late Bella Cooperman for sixty-one years. Special friend and companion of Bea Adelstein, who enriched his life. Loving father and father-in-law of Gary and Judy (Sigler), Bradley and Tina (Shapiro). Cherished grandfather of Brandon, Jason and Jamie; Kelly, Chelsea, Luca and Abbey. Son of the late Avraham and the late Bluma. Brother of the late Esther Chuturansky, and predeceased by his other siblings, Lea, Mendy and Chaya Steinmetz, who perished in the Holocaust. Myer was a true fighter who was loved by everyone who met him, and had a zest for life that was contagious. He will be sadly mourned and fondly remembered by his brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family would like to thank his caregivers, Rima, Victor, Jonathan and Bryan, for their devoted help and compassion over the past few weeks. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Monday, January 8 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the King George Memorial Park Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at his home Ritz II: 5950 Cavendish Blvd., C.S.L., from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. daily through Thursday evening.
