GERTEL, Brenda (nee Danzinger) A Holocaust survivor. It is with great sadness that we announce Brenda's passing on Thursday, September 27, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Fischel. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Max, Riva and Andrew Toeman. Cherished grandmother of Jeremy and Ariella Toeman. Proud great-grandmother of Sam, Davin, and Elia. Predeceased by her parents and siblings who perished in the Holocaust. Heart felt thank-you to Pat, Jessica, Angela, Ann, Hannah, and Minnie for their love, care, kindness and compassion over the past several years. Graveside service on Sunday, September 30, at 12:00 p.m. Burial at Montreal Workers' Circle Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at her daughter's residence. Due to the Festival of Succot, Shiva will end on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. The family will be receiving visitors on Wednesday, and Thursday, October 3 and 4, only from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Donations in Brenda's memory may be made to Beit Halochem - Aid to Disabled Veterans of Israel, (800) 355-1648 or to the Mount Sinai Hospital Auxiliary (514) 369-2222 ext. 1334.
