SCHLOMOWITZ, Meier A Holocaust survivor Peacefully and unexpectedly, on Friday, September 21, 2018, with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Isabell (Bella) Holland for over seventy-four years. Loving father of Louis (Doreen). Devoted grandfather of Tammy Schlomowitz, Marni Schlomowitz and Jesse Chaim, Dara and Nick Thorne. Cherished great-grandfather of Erin Schlomowitz, Morgan and Oliver Chaim; Megan, Emma and Ryan Thorne. Brother and brother-in-law of Naftali and Nechama Schlomowitz. Predeceased by his parents, Racheli and Zalman, and sister Faigie, who perished in the Holocaust. Special uncle of Dr. Simie Platt. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. Meier was a true mensch in every sense of the word. He led his life with integrity and will always be remembered for his great sense of humour and love of fishing and skiing. Special thanks to Dr. Katya Ghannoum, Dr. Eleena Pearson, Dr. Harvey Chang and the entire team of the Emergency and Palliative Care units at the Jewish General Hospital. Funeral service took place from Paperman & Sons on Sunday, September 23. Due to the festival of Succoth, shiva ended Sunday afternoon.
