COVSHOFF, Sophie (nee Cohen) Peacefully, on Thursday, October 6, 2011, in her ninety-fourth year. Beloved wife of the late Sydney Steinberg and the late Moe Covshoff. Devoted second mother of Joyce Pleet, and Philip Covshoff. Proud Bubby and Grandma of Steven Pleet and Steven Reti, Mitchell Pleet; Sarah Covshoff, and Elana Covshoff. Predeceased by her siblings and their spouses, Sara and Morris Bauman, Peter Cohen, twin sister Freda and Victor Deckelbaum. Sophie will be lovingly remembered by Margaret Covshoff, Richard and Kaya Deckelbaum, Steven and Elaine Deckelbaum, Joyce and Marty Abraham, Cynthia and Max Bernard, Goldie Welik, Diana Gail and Norman Shadowitz, the late David Deckelbaum, and by her many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, family and friends. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of 6N, Jewish General Hospital, for their kindness and compassion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, October 9 at 1 p.m. Burial at the Shomrim Laboker Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva private.
