PERVIN, Sarah (nee Handman) July 13, 1915 - May 18, 2011 Peacefully, on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Montreal General Hospital, in her ninety-sixth year. Beloved wife of the late Harris. Loving mother of Tim (Elizabeth), the late Rena, and Aron (Elizabeth Qualben). Proud grandmother and Bubbe of Cassandra Sinclair (Daniel), Kristofer and Erik Pervin, and great-grandmother of Talia and Joshua Sinclair. Sister of the late Mary Handman, the late Harold Handman (the late Estelle), the late Stanley "Red" Handman (the late Eunice), the late Maurice Handman (Sophie), the late Joseph Handman (the late Ruth), Anne Zussman (the late Saul), and Freda Hahn (Jack). Sister-in-law of the late Michael Pervin (the late Bunny), the late Joseph Pervin (Effie), the late Hyman Pervin, the late Timothy Pervin and Sophie Simco (the late Moses). Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews across Canada and beyond. Family and friends from around the world cherished Sarah and will mourn her passing. Hearfelt thanks to the caring and respectful team of the 13th and 16th floors, Montreal General Hospital, and to Sylvia Zagury and the staff at Place Kensington, including Sarah's caregiver, Sharon Plummer, who saw her through her last days. Sarah was courageous, resilient and independent, gracious and engaging. She often demonstrated true grit, and guided herself by the Golden Rule. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, May 22 at 1 p.m. Burial at the Shomrim Laboker Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane. The family will be receiving condolence calls following burial at Place Kensington, 4430 Ste-Catherine St. W.
