KAWALEK, Chana (nee Rosenwald) A Holocaust Survivor On Monday, January 28, 2019, in her ninety-sixth year. Wife of the late Majer Kawalek and the late Leon Markowicz. Beloved mother of Judy Freedman, the late Jerry Kawalek and the late Charlotte Klein; and mother-in-law of John Freedman, Eli Klein and Miriam Erlichman. Cherished Bubby of Rochelle Kawalek, Erika Kawalek and Wesley Yang, Adam Kawalek and Damien Navarro; Charles Freedman and Cindy Collins, Jay Freedman and Tara Gollish; Isaac Klein and Jodi Katzeff, Yael Klein, and David Klein. 'Big Bubby' of Vita Yang; Ella and Reid Freedman; Jonah and Maya Klein. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Mira and the late Max Hessing. Predeceased by her sister Fella, brother Benny, and by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Chana will be deeply missed by her nieces, nephews, family and all who knew her. Special thanks to her caregivers, Mona, Myrna, Maria and Meldy for their care and devotion.
