PAUL, Samuel July 8, 1921-February 13, 2013 Sam passed away peacefully after a long, healthy and happy life on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, in Nanaimo, BC. Predeceased by Lily, his loving wife of fifty-six years. Loving and much loved father and father-in-law of Sharon and Edward Fitch of Victoria, BC, Ruth and Larry Iwaskow of Nanaimo, BC, Morrie Paul and Shaina Lipsey of Ottawa. Cherished grandfather of Rena (Dan), Leora, Edward (Chiharu), Keana, Keila, and Gabriel. Proud great-grandfather of Teiva and Ben. Survived by his cherished partner and friend, Dora Gesser. Predeceased by his brothers, Ruby of Montreal and Herby of New York. Brother-in-law of Florence Paul of Montreal and Edith Paul of New York. Sam had been an active volunteer with the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association and Canadian Cancer Society. He was an avid swimmer and continued to enjoy his early morning laps even in his nineties. With his friendly outgoing manner, he established friendships and community in Montreal, Ashkelon (Israel), Victoria and Nanaimo (BC), and Palm Beach (Florida). Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., Montreal, on Sunday, February 17 at 1 p.m. Burial at the Farband Labour Zionist Association Cemetery, de la Savane, Montreal.
