GOLDBERG, Gita (nee Silin) Peacefully on Saturday, August 22 in her ninety-third year. Born in Vilna, Poland, Gita was a survivor of the Holocaust together with her beloved husband of 58 years, Pesach Goldberg, who passed in 1998. Mother of Chana and mother-in-law of Jan Steinberg. Very beloved Bobby of Rachel (Dr. Mark), Malka, Shalom, and David (Kathryn). Great Bobby of Joshua, Zachary, Brady, and Jack Pesach. Dear aunt of Steve (Lillian), and Joe Rotschild and their families. Machatonim of Sarah and the late Srul Steinberg. Predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Ester and Moishe Rotschild of Montreal, and sister Sonya in Israel. Gita had 5 brothers and 6 sisters who perished in the Holocaust. Gita was an instrumental member of the Vilner Society and Workers Circle, where she had many close friends. She was also a devoted volunteer at the Cancer Research Society. The family would like to thank Paulina Vaener for her love and care to Gita for the last three years. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon W. on Monday, August 24 at 11 a.m. Burial at the Montreal Workers Circle Section, Baron de Hirsch Cemetery, de la Savane.
