WAXMAN, Edith (Edie) (nee Kaufman) Peacefully, with great courage and dignity, on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at the age of ninety-three. Beloved and devoted wife of the late Ben for sixty-seven years. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Jeffrey and Bernice Waxman, Susan and Neil Alper. Cherished Bubby of Justin Waxman and Lauren Goldstein, Julia Waxman and Baris Kaplan; Lorne Alper and Jessica Gottlieb, Elyssa Alper and fiance David Kovacic. Proud and adored 'Big Bubby' of Logan and Brayden Alper, Seth Waxman, Jacob and Jesse Kaplan. Edie will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Jewish General Hospital and the 3rd floor staff at The West Island Selection Residence for their exceptional care and compassion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Friday, August 17 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Shevat Achim Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at Susan and Neil's home Friday following burial until 4:00 p.m., Sunday and Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Evening services at 7:30 p.m. Contributions in Edie's memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit c/o the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251. |
