SILVERBERG, Berl. Ninety-four, succumbed to a long illness at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal on February 17, 2005. Born in Ciechanovw, Poland, he came to Canada as a young man. For many decades he was, as Secretary of the United Jewish Peoples Order, involved in a variety of cultural activities. He is pre-deceased by his first wife Faigle and his second wife Helen Tarder. He is survived by his sister Sylvia Coleman, his sons David in Wolfville, Nova Scotia and Nuchem in La Paz, Mexico, his grandsons Alexis of Peterborough and Daniel, great-granddaughters Rachel and Naomi of Kamloops, as well as many nieces and nephews. |
