SELICK, Connie (nee Flexer). Peacefully, in her ninetieth year, on January 5, 2009. Beloved wife of the late Abel D. Selick Q.C., loving mother and mother-in-law of Tova Hinda and Larry Siegel, Elliot Selick and Alison Tett, Lynn and David Mayer, Mark Selick and Gloria Chaim. Treasured grandmother of Jeffrey, Gittie, Natalie, Ashira, Eliahu, Avremel, Rivka, Daneil, Avra, Miriam and Jackie. Proud great-grandmother of fifteen. Sister of the late Alec Ellis Flexer, the late Bernie Flexer and the late Fay Shuster. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, including her many bridge companions at Shakespeare. The family would like to thank and acknowledge May Leaman and, before her, Peggy Wickham, who provided Connie with extraordinary compassionate and attentive care and allowed her to maintain her quality of life until the end. Special thanks to the doctors, especially Dr. Murray Vasilevsky and his staff at the Montreal General Hospital Dialysis Unit who for these many years demonstrated with their caring, what medical care should be, and the nurses and doctors at the Montreal General ICU who provided such attentive and compassionate care to Connie in her last few days. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Wednesday, January 7 at 1 p.m. Burial at the Tifereth Beth David Jerusalem Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva in Montreal until Saturday night at 6085 Mountain Sights Ave. and continuing in Toronto (at the home of Mark and Gloria Selick, 35 Ava Rd.) and Los Angeles (at the home of Tova Hinda and Larry Siegel, 1456 Livonia Ave.).
