LEHRER, Rita (nee Bernstein) On Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Wife of the late Fred Lehrer. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Joel and Wendy Lehrer, Linda and Arthur Nussbaum. Cherished grandma of Erin Lehrer; Stephanie and Alanna Nussbaum. Predeceased by her siblings, Joseph and David Bernstein, Jean Slabosky, Pearl Blackman, Bess Astrof, Ethel Saxe and Anne Gordon. Dear sister-in-law of Peggy Lehrer. She will be fondly remembered by her devoted nieces, nephews, family and many dear friends. Special thanks to Drs. David Melnychuk and Jonathan Wyse, and to certain extraordinary members of the staff of 8NW at the Jewish General Hospital for their care and compassion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, October 1 at 1 p.m. Burial at the Hebrew Sick Benefit Association Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva private.
