BIRNBAUM, Rachel (nee Kestenbaum). Peacefully, and with dignity, on Monday, October 22, 2007. Wife of the late Sam Birnbaum. Devoted mother of Goldie Overland (the late David), Jean Zwirek (the late David), the late Bella Libstug (Morrie). Exceptional Bubby of Stewart and Nina Libstug, Stephen and Lynne Zwirek, Lorne Zwirek, Ian and Marilyn Zwirek. Proud and special Big Bubby of Ashley, Kaitlin, Ethan, Ryan, Benjamin and David. Sister and sister-in-law of the late Hyman and the late Gertie Kestenbaum, the late Sam and the late Sara Kestenbaum. Sister-in-law of the late Edith and the late Joe Wise. Special friend to the late Mary Lee Libstug. Lovingly remembered by family and friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. Doris Steg and the staff of ER and ICU at the Jewish General Hospital for their compassionate care. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W. on Wednesday, October 24 at 12 p.m. Burial at the Anshei Ozeroff Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at 6800 Macdonald Ave. #1510. Rachel was a dedicated volunteer for 25 years at the Jewish General Hospital Coffee Shop.
