A kind, loyal and simple soul Hershey passed away on Saturday, June 16 after a long illness. Hershey was the loving and beloved son of Ida and Samuel Sofer, the brother of Seymour Sofer and Rose (nee Sofer) Lightstone. all predeceased. He is survived by his sister-in-law Reisha Sofer, brother-in-law Reuben Lightstone, nephews Steven, Susan, Richard, Alec, Leslie, Braha, Leo, Libbi and Sam and their children. Hershey was a devoted Habs and Expos fan whose gentleness reached beyond his disability. Special thanks to the Lopez family, the Dahan family, the staff at Maimonides Geriatric center and particularly the staff of the Miriam Home and services. Funeral service from Paperman and Sons, 3888 Jean Talon West on Monday, June 18 at 3 p.m. Burial at the Chevra Shaas Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane.
