WEIDEN, Alina (nee Inslicht)
It is with deep sadness and a profound sense of loss, that our family announces the passing of Alina Weiden -- an extraordinary mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend -- on Saturday, June 11, 2016. She passed away as she lived -- with grace, dignity and strength. After surviving the Holocaust, she met the love of her life, the late Joseph Weiden, and, in forty-two years together, they built a beautiful home and family. She was fortunate to have found love again with the late Maurice Zalcsztain. She will be dearly missed by her loving daughters, Lily Ludwig (Kenny) and Ruth Kertesz. She was adored by her grandchildren, Howie Breslaw (Ann-Marie), Shari Breslaw, Mark Breslaw (Shonna), Allison Merrick (Jared), Adam Kertesz (Lauren) and Jeremy Krief; and her pride and joy were her great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Amy and Joey; Hannah and Landon; Jacob and Kenzie; Noah and Joshua. Predeceased by her parents and brother who perished in the Holocaust. The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Mark Palayew for his devotion and empathy, and Dr. Stanley Heisler for years of compassion, and always going above and beyond. We would also like to thank Joanna for her incredible support and becoming such a special part of her life. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, June 14 at 1:15 p.m. Burial at the Chevra Shaas Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at 9 rue Lamont, D.D.O., from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. daily.
